Free Volunteer Help for Those in Need
We’re committed to safely connecting neighbours for essential services, especially during times of need. Tasks for Good connects vulnerable individuals and organizations with local Taskers who are donating their time and skills to support their communities.
Through Tasks for Good, a volunteer Tasker can pick up medications, deliver meals, or drop off supplies — and more. At booking, please let your Tasker volunteer know all relevant details about your needs so they can be prepared to help in the best way possible.
How it works
Frequently asked questions
Tasks for Good is intended for individuals impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic (immunocompromised, elderly, disabled, healthcare workers, etc.) and organizations (non-profits, government agencies, community-based organizations, local small businesses, etc.) facing financial hardship and in need of volunteer support.
Tasks for Good was created to quickly and safely help vulnerable community members and organizations in times of need. You can request volunteer help to deliver personal protective equipment; deliver meals; board up windows for small businesses or community centers during ‘shelter in place’ orders; and grocery shop for vulnerable populations facing financial hardship. Please note that all of the tasks listed above can also be booked in TaskRabbit’s regular marketplace — we kindly encourage anyone not in a vulnerable position to hire Taskers there.
You can read Tasker profiles to find a match for what you need. Please be sure to include specific instructions in the task details about what you need done, how long you estimate the task will take, and any other relevant information.
You can reimburse volunteers through the TaskRabbit app for any purchases they make for you. For example, if you ask a volunteer to pick up groceries, they will input the cost of your grocery items to the task, which you can review. When the job is complete, your volunteer will be reimbursed for those expenses using the credit card that you have on file with your TaskRabbit account.
Certainly. Volunteers work for free, but you can still tip them! If you wish to tip a volunteer, you can do so when prompted at the completion of your task.
